Who can take part

  • Age between 18 and 65.
  • Either have moderate-to-severe sleep apnea (15+ breathing pauses per hour) OR no sleep apnea (fewer than 5 pauses per hour).
  • Willing to give blood samples and complete study procedures.
  • If you have sleep apnea, willing to use a CPAP machine and be randomly assigned to start treatment now or later.
  • Not have severe heart, kidney, liver, or lung disease, active cancer, or chronic inflammation.
