How Blood Sugar Affects Eye Blood Vessels in Diabetes

Who can take part

  • You have diabetes and diabetic retinopathy (changes in the back of the eye caused by diabetes).
  • You have had your HbA1c tested (either well-controlled or not well-controlled).
  • You have not had any eye injections (like anti-VEGF) or laser treatment for your eyes.
  • You have not had any previous eye surgeries, including cataract surgery.
  • Your eye is clear enough for the camera – no dense cataracts or other cloudiness.
  • You do not have other eye diseases like a blocked vein in the eye, macular degeneration, or uncontrolled glaucoma.
