Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for posterior spinal fusion surgery (spinal fusion from the back).
  • You have a diagnosis of either idiopathic scoliosis (unknown cause) or neuromuscular scoliosis (related to nerve or muscle conditions).
  • You are of any age, from birth to adult.
  • You are not currently taking immunomodulators (medications that suppress the immune system, such as certain biologics or chemotherapy).
  • You are not on long-term (chronic) steroid use.
