Who can take part
- You are a man between 30 and 60 years old.
- You have type 2 diabetes with an HbA1c (average blood sugar) between 7.0% and 10.0%.
- You have been taking metformin alone (at least 1500 mg per day or your highest tolerated dose) for at least 8 weeks.
- You have fatty liver disease (diagnosed by a special liver scan) and at least one cardiometabolic risk factor (like high blood pressure or cholesterol).
- You have not used other diabetes drugs like SGLT2 inhibitors, insulin, or GLP-1 receptor agonists before.
- You do not have significant alcohol intake, other liver diseases, certain heart or kidney problems, or active cancer.
