Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with rectal cancer that has not spread to other organs and is considered removable by surgery.
- The tumor is in the middle or lower part of your rectum (lower edge less than 10 cm from the anus).
- You have not had any previous cancer treatment for this rectal cancer.
- Your tumor has a normal DNA repair system (called pMMR or MSS), which will be confirmed by a biopsy.
- You are generally in good health (able to do light activity) and have no serious heart, liver, or infectious diseases (like active hepatitis B or C, or HIV).
