  • You are having elective surgery on your hand, wrist, or forearm.
  • Your surgery will use a pneumatic tourniquet on your upper arm.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners.
  • You do not have an infection in the area where the anesthetic will be injected.
  • You are not a chronic user of opioid pain medications.
