This study looks at how sending certain fats through the intestine affects “insulin resistance,” a condition where the body doesn’t use insulin as well. If you qualify, you may receive a controlled lipid (fat) delivery as part of measuring body fat handling and related body chemistry.

Who can take part

  • You are a woman who is not past menopause or you are a man
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 27
  • Your weight has stayed about the same recently
  • You are not pregnant and not breastfeeding
  • You do not have known heart circulation problems or serious heart valve disease
  • You are a non-smoker (no more than 20 cigarettes per week)
