Who can take part
- Your stroke affected one side of your body (one arm/hand area is the focus), and it was ischemic or hemorrhagic
- Your stroke happened 1 to 12 months before you join the study
- Your arm and hand recovery level is in a certain range (Stage 2 to 4 on the study’s assessment)
- You should not have apraxia (trouble planning or using movements even when strength is present)
- You need enough thinking ability for the screening test (Mini Mental Status Exam score of 22 or higher)
- You must be able to sit in a chair for 3 hours at a time and your shoulder pain/arm stiffness must not be too severe
