Who can take part

  • You have a history of long-lasting claudication (walking pain from poor leg blood flow).
  • Your leg pain limits walking, and a doctor confirms it during a treadmill/walking test.
  • You have blocked leg arteries, shown by a circulation test like an ankle-brachial index and/or imaging.
  • Your blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes medicines (if you have diabetes) and risk-factor control have been stable for at least 6 weeks.
  • You are not already taking ACE-inhibitor blood-pressure medicines, including ramipril or similar drugs.
