Who can take part

  • Be age 18 or older
  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of one of these: high-risk MDS, MDS/MPN (including CMML or atypical CML), or high-risk myelofibrosis
  • Have disease that is relapsed or refractory, or needs treatment because of low blood counts, excess blasts, or an enlarged spleen
  • Have not taken a MEK inhibitor before (this trial looks for no prior MEK-inhibitor treatment)
  • Be well enough for treatment (ECOG 0–2) and have adequate kidney and liver function
  • Be able to use birth control if applicable and sign informed consent (and not be pregnant or breastfeeding)
