Who can take part
- You’re between 18 and 85 years old
- You were admitted to the stroke unit within 72 hours of stroke symptom start
- Your stroke (or TIA) was confirmed by brain scan, and your current disability score is mild (mRS 1 or less)
- You can sign consent yourself or a close relative can sign for you if needed
- If you’re able, doctors determine you might qualify for carotid surgery (this is for an extra study part)
- You must be able to follow the rehabilitation/therapy plan during the study
