Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older (adult, fully grown bones)
- Have long-lasting low-back pain from degenerative disc changes seen on MRI (Pfirrmann grade II–IV)
- Have tried non-surgical treatments for at least 6 months without enough relief
- Not have the more severe MRI stage (Pfirrmann grade V)
- Not have certain back conditions on MRI or exam (like L5/S1 involvement or spondylolisthesis)
