Who can take part
- You had a fracture in the thigh bone near the hip (femoral neck) likely caused by low or no trauma, and it’s being treated with a hip implant (endoprosthesis or hip arthroplasty).
- You are able to understand the study and are willing to sign consent.
- You have not had previous osteoporotic (fragility) fractures before this one.
- You have not had prior hip or other prosthetic implant surgery for orthopedic problems.
- You do not have certain ongoing or past health issues that can affect bone/muscle or recovery, like cancer, autoimmune disease, Paget’s disease, long-term immune-suppressing medicines, or chronic infections (HBV/HCV/HIV).
