Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and can give written consent for the study.
  • You are being considered for left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) because your care team believes you need it.
  • Your heart team agrees that you have a strong reason you cannot take oral anticoagulant (blood thinner) medicine.
  • Your doctor says it is safe for you to take aspirin plus clopidogrel, and your bleeding risk is not considered too high.
  • You do not have a known allergic reaction to aspirin and/or clopidogrel, and you do not have certain stomach bleeding or bleeding disorders.
  • You can safely do an MRI scan (no certain implanted metal/devices, severe claustrophobia, or similar MRI limits).
