Who can take part

  • You are age 25 or younger (and for some blood disorders, age rules may be different).
  • You need a stem cell transplant now, and there is no HLA-identical sibling, and either no matched unrelated donor or time is too urgent to keep searching.
  • A half-matched (haploidentical) or closely matched donor is available and agrees to donate using mobilization and blood cell collection.
  • You have one of these conditions: certain blood disorders (like sickle cell disease or thalassemia), bone marrow failure, inherited immune problems, or related immune regulation disorders.
  • Your health tests are strong enough for transplant, including kidney, liver, heart, and breathing requirements.
  • You are not pregnant and do not have HIV infection; you must not have an uncontrolled serious active infection.
