Who can take part
- Be an adult age 18 or older
- Have septic shock that is treated with noradrenaline (a blood-pressure support medicine) and have a fast heart rate over 100
- Be in critical care for at least 6 hours but less than 24 hours before starting the study, with stable noradrenaline doses for the prior 2 hours
- Have a heart rhythm called sinus tachycardia that the care team feels should be treated (not a compensating response)
- Be able to give consent (or a legal/emergency consent process can be used) and have social security coverage
