Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of a motor neuron disease or frontotemporal dementia spectrum condition by a neurologist using standard criteria (examples include ALS, FTD, and related types).
  • You need to be able and willing to sign the informed consent form.
  • If you are a comparison participant, you must be a caregiver (like a spouse or long-term nurse) matched for age and gender to the patient.
  • You should not have neurological diseases such as dementia (including Alzheimer’s), Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, or similar conditions, if you are being considered for the caregiver/control group.
