Who can take part
- You are 18–85 years old and can sign consent and follow study visits
- You can safely fit in a PET/CT scanner (up to 500 pounds; scanner size limits apply)
- You have high blood pressure and take at least one blood pressure medication
- You have either confirmed primary aldosteronism (Cohort A) or have recent heart scan and ultrasound results consistent with suspected disease (Cohort B)
- You cannot be allergic to, or have a reason you cannot take, eplerenone or spironolactone
- You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding, and your kidney function and blood potassium must be within safe limits
