Who can take part
- You have an eligible blood cancer (such as AML, certain lymphomas, myeloma, MDS, CLL, CML) or a blood disorder where transplant could be curative
- You have a donor who matches closely enough: either 1-haplotype mismatched or fully matched by specific HLA criteria (the team will place you in the right donor group)
- Your heart and lung tests are strong enough for this treatment (heart pumping at least 50%, and lung breathing/oxygen capacity at least 50% predicted)
- Your liver and kidney function are within allowed limits (bilirubin up to 1.8, liver enzymes up to 2.5x normal, kidney clearance at least 60)
- Your overall health is sufficient for transplant based on age rules (Karnofsky score and transplant risk index must be low enough, with limited flexibility for some patients)
- You can safely participate: not pregnant/breastfeeding, no uncontrolled active brain involvement by cancer, not HIV-positive, able to consent, and have at least 6 months life expectancy for reasons other than the blood cancer
