Who can take part

  • You have had refractory (hard-to-treat) or unexplained chronic cough for at least 1 year
  • Your latest chest X-ray or CT scan (within 1 year) does not show another clear cause of the cough
  • Your cough severity score is at least 40 mm on a cough severity scale at screening
  • You must be able to use required birth control during the study (or confirm you are not able to become pregnant)
  • You must be a non-smoker now, and if you used to smoke, you must have stopped at least 12 months ago
  • You must not be taking certain cough-related or antidepressant-type medicines around the study start date
