Who can take part

  • You’re between 35 and 75 years old
  • You have hypertension and your systolic blood pressure is in a target range (depending on how many BP medicines you take)
  • Your brain scan shows specific small-vessel disease changes (for example, recent small stroke or certain white-matter changes)
  • Your modified Fisher/Fazekas scan scores and history match the study’s pattern
  • You have either high homocysteine (Hcy) (at least 10) or a specific MTHFR gene type (677 TT)
  • Your functional status is good (mRS score 2 or less)
