This study looks at how thinking and brain processes affect learning to move your arm after a stroke. You may be asked to do arm tasks in a way that helps the researchers understand what helps or limits motor learning.

Who can take part
- You had a first stroke (ischemic or bleeding) within the last 3 years
- Your medical condition is stable, and you are not currently receiving stroke treatment
- You can see well enough (normal vision or with correction such as glasses/contacts)
- You have arm weakness and stiffness, but you can move your elbow up and down enough to reach about 30 degrees in each direction
- You should not have other major brain or muscle problems that would make the arm task hard
- You should not have severe elbow sensation problems, strong space-judging problems, uncorrected vision, or significant depression
