Rescue medicine trial for sleep apnea after other treatments fail

This trial studies a “rescue” set of medicines for obstructive sleep apnea when two common treatments haven’t worked well enough. If you still have frequent breathing pauses during sleep, the study may test whether these medicines can reduce them and improve safety and symptoms.

Who can take part

  • You have obstructive sleep apnea that did not improve enough on a mouth device (MAD) or nerve stimulator (HGNS)
  • On your MAD or HGNS treatment, your sleep apnea remained moderate-to-severe (AHI 15 or more events per hour)
  • Your breathing problem during sleep is obstructive sleep apnea, not mainly central sleep apnea
  • You do not have other major sleep disorders like restless legs with frequent leg movements, narcolepsy, or parasomnias
  • Your overall health is stable enough for a Phase 1/2 study (no unstable major medical problems)
  • You can take the study medicines safely (no key drug, pregnancy, or medical condition contraindications)
