Surgery study for sleep apnea when CPAP won’t work

Who can take part

  • You’re 21 years or older
  • Your sleep study shows moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea (at least 15 events per hour)
  • Your sleep study shows very low central or mixed apnea (less than 5 events per hour)
  • You can’t tolerate CPAP because you use it less than 2 hours per night, at least 5 nights per week
  • You can’t (or won’t) use a mouth device for sleep apnea and you’re already planning palate surgery with informed consent
  • Your overall health and medications must fit the study rules, including stable meds for at least 2 months and no pregnancy
