Who can take part
- You’re older than 18 years
- Your kidney function has been reduced (low GFR) for at least 3 months
- Your heart artery blockage is severe (at least 70% narrowing) and the artery is at least 2.5 mm wide
- The blockage has heavy calcium on both sides of the artery opening seen on the angiogram
- Your case is not an acute heart attack within the past 7 days
- You can give informed consent and your overall health is not expected to limit survival to less than 1 year
