Who can take part

  • You are age 40 to 80
  • You have nervous-system (autonomic) problems, such as pure autonomic failure, multiple system atrophy, or Parkinson disease
  • When you stand, your blood pressure drops significantly within 3 minutes due to nervous-system reflex problems
  • Your overnight test shows high blood pressure while lying down (nighttime top number 140 or higher)
  • You can sign consent and follow the study steps
  • You are able to temporarily stop any involved treatment and still safely stand for at least 1 minute
