  • You have essential (primary) high blood pressure
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old
  • You can read, understand, and sign the consent form
  • Your high blood pressure is not from another cause (secondary hypertension), except sleep apnea
  • You have not had a heart attack, heart failure, stroke, or heart procedure in the last 6 months
  • You do not have severe other illnesses that could interfere with the study (like active cancer or severe lung, liver, or digestive disease) and you can follow study steps
