Who can take part
- You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes
- You are between 20 and 60 years old
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 20 and 30
- You have a chronic diabetic foot ulcer on the foot, about 2–8 square centimeters
- Your ulcer is Wagner grade 1 (limited to soft tissue) and has lasted about 6–24 weeks
- Blood flow checks are okay: skin oxygen pressure over 30 mmHg and ankle-brachial index over 0.5
