Who can take part

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a diabetic foot ulcer that is 1 to 25 cm² in size and has been present for at least 6 weeks
  • Have adequate blood flow to the foot (tested by simple measurements)
  • Not have an active infection in the wound or require antibiotics by mouth or IV
  • Have controlled diabetes (HbA1c below 11%) and not have severe kidney, liver, or blood problems
