Who can take part
- You have had an ischemic stroke (blocked blood vessel stroke) confirmed by CT/MRI or artery blockage on CTA/MRA
- Your stroke symptoms started within the past 48 hours
- You can get an MRI scan as a baseline within 72 hours of arrival
- Your stroke severity at enrollment is at least 4 on the NIH Stroke Scale
- Before the stroke, you were not limited in daily activities (pre-stroke mRS must be 0–2)
- You must be able to safely have an MRI (no pacemaker or other MRI-incompatible metal/devices)
