  • Aged 18 to 80 years old
  • Diagnosed with mild to moderate ARDS and on a breathing machine (ventilator)
  • Have an arterial line for blood draws and a central line for an injection
  • No severe heart or lung problems like pneumothorax, pulmonary hypertension, or heart failure with a low pumping function
  • Not eligible if currently pregnant, have chronic kidney disease, or have a pacemaker
  • Not involved in other interventional studies
