Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 65 years old
  • You have myotonic dystrophy type 1 or type 2 (DM1/DM2) based on genetic testing and/or approved clinical criteria
  • If your diagnosis is based only on symptoms, you must have a first-degree relative with a positive DM1/DM2 genetic test
  • You have signs of muscle weakness (for DM2: more in the upper/proximal muscles; for DM1: more in the lower/distal muscles)
  • You can walk by yourself (a cane or walking stick is OK)
  • You can follow study steps and sign written consent
