Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older and able to sign consent in writing
- Weigh at least 50 kg and have a BMI between 19 and 30
- Have recent resting vital signs in safe ranges (temperature, blood pressure, and pulse)
- For ALS: diagnosis of ALS confirmed by specific criteria and diagnosis was within the past 18 months
- For ALS: breathing function test (slow vital capacity) must be 80% or higher
- Be on stable ALS medicines (routinely edaravone and/or riluzole) if you have ALS
