PET scan study comparing brain cannabinoid signals in ALS

Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older and able to sign consent in writing
  • Weigh at least 50 kg and have a BMI between 19 and 30
  • Have recent resting vital signs in safe ranges (temperature, blood pressure, and pulse)
  • For ALS: diagnosis of ALS confirmed by specific criteria and diagnosis was within the past 18 months
  • For ALS: breathing function test (slow vital capacity) must be 80% or higher
  • Be on stable ALS medicines (routinely edaravone and/or riluzole) if you have ALS
