Who can take part

  • Be between 40 and 75 years old
  • Have a past smoking history of at least 10 pack-years and stopped smoking at least 1 month ago
  • Have COPD confirmed by breathing tests: low airflow after using a bronchodilator (FEV1/FVC < 0.7 and FEV1 30% to 80% of predicted)
  • Be able to sign consent and complete all required study visits and tests
  • Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Not have had a COPD flare in the last month that required starting or increasing steroid pills
