Healthy Little Eyes study for newborn vision and brain health

Who can take part

  • Your baby is either diagnosed with HIE or is a healthy newborn (well baby).
  • If enrolling because of HIE, your baby must be under 78 hours old at enrollment.
  • If enrolling from the newborn follow-up clinic, your child must be under 36 months old.
  • The parent or legal guardian must be able to consent in English.
  • Babies with certain other brain or eye conditions not caused by HIE are usually not eligible.
