Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with a calcified aortic valve (mild, moderate, or severe) or have early valve thickening on an ultrasound or CT scan done in the last 3 months.
  • You haven't taken steroids, antibiotics, or certain other medications in the past 3 months.
  • You haven't had your gallbladder removed or have chronic liver disease or inflammatory bowel disease.
  • You are not having a heart emergency like a heart attack or shock.
  • Your valve hardening is not caused by rheumatic fever or an infection.
