Who can take part
- You had a recent ischemic stroke (a type of stroke caused by a blood clot) within the last 48 hours.
- Your stroke symptoms lasted at least 24 hours, or a brain scan showed damage from the stroke.
- You had a blood test within 24 hours of admission showing high D-dimer (820 μg/L or more).
- Your stroke is classified as an 'embolic stroke of unknown source' after standard tests (brain scan, heart monitoring, echocardiogram).
- You do not have a known active cancer (cancer that was treated or found in the last 6 months, or a blood cancer not in remission for 5+ years).
