Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have current major depression (of at least moderate severity) or you are a healthy volunteer.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you can become pregnant, you use reliable birth control.
  • You have no history of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or substance abuse (except cannabis) in the last 2 years.
  • You are willing to stop antidepressants for 2-4 weeks before the study starts.
  • You have no metal in your body, claustrophobia, or other reasons you cannot have an MRI scan.
