This study tests whether a medication called tranexamic acid (TXA) given during brain tumor surgery can reduce bleeding. If you are having a standard craniotomy for a tumor and don’t have certain health risks, you may be eligible.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are scheduled to have a craniotomy (a surgical opening of the skull) to remove a brain tumor.
  • You do not have a history of blood clots or a clotting disorder.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder (like hemophilia) or severe kidney disease.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or have Class 3 obesity (BMI ≥ 40).
  • Your surgery is not an emergency or a mini-craniotomy, and you haven't had embolization before surgery.
