Who can take part

  • You have a spontaneous brain bleed (not caused by injury) that is in the upper part of the brain.
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • The bleed started less than 6 hours ago.
  • You are awake enough to follow commands (GCS score 8 or higher).
  • The bleed is large enough depending on its location—for example, more than 7 ml if in the thalamus or internal capsule, or more than 30 ml if in the putamen or outer brain layer.
