This study tests a medicine called Jardiance (an SGLT2 inhibitor) to see if it helps improve heart function in adults with congenital heart disease who have recently experienced a drop in their heart pumping ability. Participants will take the medication alongside standard heart failure treatments.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and were born with a heart defect (congenital heart disease).
  • Your congenital heart disease is considered moderate or complex (Level II or III).
  • In the last 6 months, your heart’s pumping strength (ejection fraction) has dropped below 60% and decreased by more than 5%, as shown by a heart ultrasound, CT scan, or MRI.
  • You do not have diabetes, severe kidney disease (GFR below 20), or certain metabolic conditions.
  • You have not taken the study drug (Jardiance) in the last 4 weeks and do not have a history of liver disease.
