This trial tests if ultrasound measurements of the optic nerve sheath can help doctors assess patients with dangerously high blood pressure. If you come to the emergency room with very high blood pressure, this study will check your optic nerve to see if it's swollen.

Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You come to the emergency room with suspected hypertensive emergency
- Your blood pressure is above 200 mmHg systolic (top number) and/or above 120 mmHg diastolic (bottom number)
- You do not have a preexisting eye condition like glaucoma or retinal artery/vein blockages
- Your high blood pressure is not caused by a primary neurological issue like a stroke
