Who can take part

  • You or your legal representative can sign the consent form.
  • You have an acute swelling of the optic nerve head from conditions like NAION, optic neuritis, or papilledema.
  • You have acute pseudoedema (false swelling) from LHON.
  • You have chronic pseudoedema from LHON or optic disc drusen.
  • You have chronic optic nerve disease in one eye (like NTG, DOA, or Wolfram syndrome) and we will study your healthy eye.
  • You do not have other conditions that affect the optic nerve or retina, or eye cloudiness that blocks the view of the optic nerve.
