This trial tests a drug called pacritinib in people with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) or MDS/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN). The drug targets several proteins that may help control the disease, especially for those who have not responded to other treatments.

Who can take part
- You must be 12 years or older and have a diagnosis of MDS or MDS/MPN confirmed by a lab test.
- Adults 18 and older with high-risk MDS must have tried a hypomethylating agent (like azacitidine or decitabine) without improvement or had side effects from it.
- Adults 18 and older with low-risk MDS must have severe neutropenia (low white blood cells), symptomatic anemia, or low platelets with bleeding.
- Teens 12 to 17 must weigh at least 35 kg (about 77 pounds) and have MDS that has not responded to treatment or cannot receive standard therapies.
- You cannot have active bleeding, heart rhythm problems, or severe infections. You must agree to use birth control if you are able to become pregnant or father a child.
