Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with a blood clot in your lungs (pulmonary embolism) using an imaging test.
  • You have finished the initial treatment for the clot and are now on long-term blood thinning therapy.
  • You are expected to live for more than 3 months.
  • Your doctor has approved the use of a type of blood thinner called an Xa factor inhibitor (like apixaban or rivaroxaban).
  • You do not have moderate or severe liver disease, severe kidney disease, a bleeding disorder, or antiphospholipid syndrome.
