Who can take part
- You are 18 or older.
- You have type 1 diabetes (for at least 5 years) or type 2 diabetes.
- You have a bone infection in the front part of the foot (forefoot) that hasn't healed after 2–6 weeks of antibiotics, and you need surgery to remove infected tissue.
- Your foot has good blood flow (checked by pulses or tests).
- You are not on dialysis, not taking medications that affect bone healing, and you can walk.
