Bioactive glass for diabetic foot bone infection in the forefoot

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You have type 1 diabetes (for at least 5 years) or type 2 diabetes.
  • You have a bone infection in the front part of the foot (forefoot) that hasn't healed after 2–6 weeks of antibiotics, and you need surgery to remove infected tissue.
  • Your foot has good blood flow (checked by pulses or tests).
  • You are not on dialysis, not taking medications that affect bone healing, and you can walk.
