Heart tests to prevent another stroke

This study looks at how heart problems might cause strokes. If you had a stroke that doctors can't explain after many tests, this trial will do extra heart monitoring to find possible causes and help prevent another stroke.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and had a stroke that doctors can't explain after full testing.
  • Your stroke must have started within the last 2 weeks (or when you were last known to be well).
  • MRI or CT scan must show a new stroke.
  • Your heart's pumping ability (ejection fraction) is 20% or higher.
  • You must be willing to have follow-up information collected at 30 days.
  • You are not in another blinded study for stroke prevention.
