Who can take part

  • You are between 50 and 85 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
  • An MRI shows atrophy (shrinkage) in the memory-related parts of your brain.
  • Your memory problems are not caused by other conditions like stroke or vitamin deficiency.
  • You are not taking blood thinners such as warfarin or heparin, and you can safely have an MRI (no pacemaker or claustrophobia).
  • You have not had acupuncture or used a pacemaker in the last 2 weeks.
