- You have a lung tissue sample already stored from a past surgery or biopsy.
- The tissue came from a person between 18 and 70 years old.
- The tissue includes the smooth muscle layer of the airways.
- You are either a person with asthma OR a person without asthma (for comparison).
- You do not have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
