Who can take part

  • Your cancer is a type called squamous cell carcinoma and started in the oropharynx (the back of your throat).
  • The cancer is HPV-negative (not caused by a common virus).
  • The cancer has spread locally but not to other parts of the body (stage III or IV).
  • You are able to have standard combined treatment with radiation (70 Gy) and weekly cisplatin chemotherapy.
  • You haven't had radiation to the head/neck before or surgery that removed the main tumor.
